This is the place to store some of the more outrageous theories that have come out of the pub's discussions. Send any comments to [email protected] for addition to the page.
Relationship Insurance
The original theory was to provide insurance for relationships, just the way you insure your home, your property or your car. You pay dividends and if the relationship ends, you cash in the policy. However, there are some even more interesting things to consider:
How would the insurance company measure risk? If you chose a partner with a known, uh, reputation, wouldn't the risk of loss be higher? The insurance company would want to know your partners ahead of time.Wouldn't that require a really big database? Your relationship history would all be online somewhere, so if someone called in to get a quote, the insurance company would be able to assess the risk and reply accordingly. He costs how much? If the policy costs a lot, is the guy really worth it? How do I get into this database? Then comes web access - search on names to find a date for the weekend. |
